The assignment is part of the Integral Rehabilitation Plan for the Historic City of Valencia promoted by the Generalitat Valenciana. In the reduced dimension of the corner plot, a studio flat is planned for each floor with a large window that connects the living room and kitchen with the square, and a small opening in the bedroom that allows an oblique view of the street. In the house between dividing walls, the living room and kitchen face the inner courtyard garden and the bedrooms open onto the public road.

As a temporary relocation, it is very likely that the living space will never be personalised and that all available storage space will be required to store the relocated objects. These considerations led to the creation of a single space containing the kitchen and bathroom volume, which allows the roof surface to be used as a storage space.

There is a conscious search for integration into the environment through the use of the load-bearing wall. This traditional technique demands a constructive rigour which, among other things, limits the size and number of openings; in this sense, the final expression of the facing is intended to be in tune with the atmosphere of the historic city.

The unique situation of the project, the transition between the street and the square, is emphasised by the choice of a single light colour for the façades and transforms the wall of the narrow Street into a luminous Surface that brightens up the interior.
