Bio
Ara González graduated as an architect from the Madrid Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSAM), and with a Master's Degree in Advanced Architectural Projects (MPAA) (ETSAM), obtaining Honours in the final degree project, the project subjects and others, adding up to 19 in total. Her Final Degree Project (TFM) was a finalist for the European Young Talent Architecture Award of the Mies Van der Rohe Foundation, and received a mention for innovation in the Final Projects Award of the Official Association of Architects of Madrid (PFC COAM) competition. She began her professional career as an architect at IDOM, and has completed internships at Lacaton and Vassal Architects, Paris (Erasmus + Scholarship), and at MVRDV, Holland (Arquia Scholarship by file). During the academic years 2018 to 2020 she collaborated as a mentor in the project classes of the ETSAM, in Emilio Tuñón's teaching unit. Her academic works have been exhibited at several Venice Biennials. She has been a partner of Estudio González arquitectos S.L.P. since 2016, a studio that she co-directs together with Primitivo González and Noa González. Among the projects developed during this period are the Art School of Valladolid; the Conservatory of Music of León; the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Toledo; the Courts of Manacor and Martorell; or the Town Hall of Salem, in Germany, which was a finalist in the 15th BEAU of Spanish architecture. She currently combines her professional practice with her PhD studies, as well as a particular interest in drawing.
