The "Between Cathedrals" project aims to create a piece capable of highlighting the most significant place in the history of Cadiz, the oldest city in the West: the empty space between the New Cathedral and the Old Cathedral, facing the sea.

The objectives are to cover and protect the archaeological excavation. In addition, we would like this plan to serve as the basis for a public space facing the sea, with a height such that the view is clear, without seeing the cars passing by on the ring road. It is conceived as a light, white platform, perched on top of the excavation, as if on tiptoe, and accessed by a lateral ramp. An umbraculum is built on this plane to protect us from the sun and rain.

All built as if it were a shipbuilding, all painted white to accentuate its lightness. The walkway is carpeted with white marble. In the construction of the base, the memory of the ships. In the one in the umbraculum, as if it were a canopy with poles, the memory of a paso. We would like to create a beautiful piece of architecture, capable of highlighting this marvellous place, capable of remaining in the memory of Cadiz.
