The Faculty of Communication Sciences consists of a long axial body, to which a series of volumes such as the library and the main lecture hall are connected perpendicularly. This organisation offers an ambiguous and poetic spatial richness, as is characteristic of Siza's work.

Particularly memorable are the entrance sequence, under the volume of the library, supported by a single eccentric leg, or the interior ramp, open to the distribution atrium, from which the different classrooms are accessed.

Roland Halbe

The architect has taken care of every last detail of the building's fittings, from the classroom benches and door handles to the design of the graphic elements indicating the gender for which the toilets are intended. This makes an educational building a remarkable example of a total work of art in contemporary architecture.
