The building presents a structural asymmetry between the ground floor, defined as a grid of groin and barrel vaults and load-bearing walls, and an open-plan first floor with a structure of pillars and intermediate supports.

The project proposes the inversion of this structural order for functional requirements, giving rise to a new spatial and programmatic scheme. Two T-beams intersect in space, creating a cross with asymmetrical arms that frees the space completely of intermediate supports, creating an open-plan layout. The combination of brick masonry arches with concrete beams generates a spatial framework of successive beams and vaults that cover a space charged with complexity.

The project maintains, for functional logic, the division of the first two rooms -garage and guest room- towards Carrera street, while the living room becomes an open-plan space open horizontally to the back garden and protected vertically by the structural cross and two barrel vaults. While the floor plan creates a continuous space, these vaulted ceilings create different virtual enclosures within it.
