Miraflores de la Sierra is fifty kilometres from Madrid; it has no construction industry. In Miraflores the winter is harsh, preventing the normal development of a construction site with its intense cold, fog and snow. This work poses the problem of so many in which it is necessary to "hear the voice of the place". The work of the Residence was cut horizontally into two halves: the lower half, which was adopted, was built by local stonemasons and was attached to the ground, with stone, walls and basted. The other high half, with iron pillars and wooden roof, metalwork enclosures and large windows, was made in Madrid.

In one summer, the first summer, the work was carried out on site; in the second summer, everything that was fabricated in Madrid was assembled. If this is not so exact, it is very approximate and the important thing is the theory, because it is the theory that gave rise to this Architecture, which justifies it.
