The new Civic Centre consists of a sports centre previously designed by the studio, to which two new bodies have been added. One houses the cultural activities and the second includes swimming pools and extends the sporting uses of the original building.

The challenge of the proposal is to solve the compositional problem of extending a finished, closed building, complete in itself. This first decision is resolved by the juxtaposition of two apparently identical volumes flanking the existing one. The intervention attempts to respond to the functional diversity without altering the exterior sobriety -brick walls outlined by the white colour of the aluminium sheeting-.
