The reform of the seafront arose from the idea of giving value to the attributes that the town of L'Escala naturally possesses: its unique geography, the Cap de Norfeu, the bay of Roses, the mountains in the background with the presence of the Canigó, the town of San Martí d'Ampurias, the beaches, the ruins of the old city Emporium and the nearby view of the seafront, the beach with the Caracol rock, the Port d'en Perris and the seafront promenade.

All this makes for one of the most beautiful natural amphitheatres in the world. The project seeks to restore the age-old tradition and culture of a maritime town of great character and personality. The project achieves, highlights and enhances all these geographical, natural and historical attributes by working by absence, eliminating all those elements that distort the quality of the site.
