In this context, we designed the extension of offices located in a three-storey house. We thought that the incorporation of three new premises, two on the ground floor and one on the upper floor, should take place without us barely perceiving the transit between one area and the other, defining a continuous space that from the original offices would wind through the interior of the block, crossing courtyards, penetrating the built density and hollowing out when necessary until it reached the roof.

To underline this continuous condition of the space, we chose to extend the floor, ceiling and exterior cladding throughout the intervention. A raised, heated, trowelled concrete floor runs through the interior and exterior spaces and, when the volume of the new space emerges to meet the original office at its various levels, it is clad in galvanised steel sheets and laid without supports, thus underlining its status as an autonomous artefact in the existing voids. Furniture elements, acoustic ceiling areas and cross-ventilations from the courtyards delimit the workplaces without partitioning them off, and accentuate the openness of the floor plan.
