Offices of the Andalusian Regional Government in Almeria

(1)

A building is proposed in which the stones with which it is constructed move, open or close to let the sun shine through. A stone box with its largest façade to the south. A straight rectangular parallelepiped measuring 40 x 8.5 m and 25 m high, whose five façades are made of lumaquela stone measuring 0.90 x 1.80 m. When all the outer shutters, which are the moving stones, are closed, the prism appears as an airtight stone box. And when it opens or closes, the façade changes.

On the roof, which is the fifth façade, also made of the same stone, we erected a delicate transparent glass box, which is like a belvedere over the city.
