Passages Bookshop

Matilde Ucelay Maórtua

And following the thread of book service, we find two bookshops: the Hispano-Argentina, located on the corner of Andrés Mellado and Fernando el Católico streets, from 1967, and the Turner, in Génova street, from 1971, both in Madrid.

The author dwells on the meticulous description of the materials, which have certainly not been chosen lightly (grey granite, light brown Morata stone, dark brown ceramic tiles, aluminium, grey carpeting and wood, in shelves, comments on the work and shop windows).

For the rest, nothing sharp or shrill in these interiors: in them, reading invites calmness and calmness invites reading.
