The ruins of an aqueduct, a degraded rural area, a dry watercourse. In the background, some mountains. A suburb with no public space to identify it. This is the context where we are asked to build a pedestrian walkway. Rather than a footbridge linking two points, the aim is to build an articulation zone between the village and the suburbs.

We start our journey with our gaze towards the mountains. Halfway across the square, we will head towards the village. We don't want to make the area an urban space, but rather to stain the territory in order to appropriate it in a more subtle way.

VI BEAU

The structure is composed of three arches that intersect to support a square halfway across. The slope of the pavement will make us sit with our gaze towards the mountains. The structure is raised to build a pergola to protect our backs. The pavement is like an oil stain that spills and causes, on the other side of the boulevard, earthworks that will form the façade of the new square.

The performance is intended to be unitary; nothing is intended to be separate. The lights intermingle with the wood of the pergola, the cut pavement acts as a seat or undulates in an exercise in origami to form armchairs. Always at the edges, never as added elements.
