The construction of the House of the Rain is fundamentally structured in three layers or horizontal layers defined and differentiated by their material quality: some elements with a stone finish at the base, a glazed area above this and, lastly, a traditional zinc roof. The distinction in bands and the successive stacking of the materials introduces a clear sensorial distinction in the appreciation of the piece and in the sensual experimentation of the essential constructive aspects.

The slit-shaped glazed opening along the length of the house creates the impression of floating roof and gives rise to an uninterrupted visual horizon that incorporates aspects of the landscape and views from outside the house itself, as is the case when looking from one wing to the other, passing over the courtyard.

The main entrance to the house is located on the central curved wall on the convex surface, forcing a detour from the access road. The door opens onto a blind wall, a void of sensations that conditions the appreciation, by contrast, of the visual richness that appears on entering the house. The gaze takes in the interior, escaping into the courtyard through the opening in the door opposite the entrance and is lost beyond, in the valley, in a view framing the pergola. This axis structures the floor plan of the house and its insertion into the terrain.
