Red Eléctrica Española, the company responsible for the transmission and distribution of electricity in Spain, was founded in 1984. From the very beginning, its president wanted the buildings that would stand out for the quality of their architecture. The project comprises a building to be erected next to the three existing ones, as well as the extension of one of them.

We understood that there was essentially a problem of addition. For this reason, a fourth piece was designed, much larger than the existing ones, whose position and shape were suggested by theirs: a large box with a clear geometry prolongs the alignments established by the façades of the original pieces. The box encloses the ensemble with three of its façades. The fourth, opposite the existing building, is curved to create a gesture that seeks to embrace, to hold, the three original small buildings.
