A magnificent irrigation tank was converted into a restaurant and the project was designed not to alter but to highlight the old tank. The new entrance, kitchens, auxiliary rooms and a small flat were built around a courtyard once filled with water.

Above this, and leaving generous perimeter terraces, the free-standing pergola was built beach-hut style. The light, wooden construction was intended to contrast with the surrounding heavy, masonry construction.
