The automated warehouse was actually a large container that had to support a constant and intense flow of incoming and outgoing goods. A first handling and control area was treated as a prelude to the large space full of shelves between which a sophisticated robot moved, accessing any point in the space.

The 100 m long hall was covered with 46.5 m long metal trusses at 15 m high. They were supported at each end by a concrete capital, in the form of a footing measuring 1.2 x 6 m in plan, which distributed its load on a hollowed rectangular pillar built with 20 cm thick block masonry. The juxtaposition of these pieces, individualised by the calligraphy of the downspouts, formed the two large walls of the side façades.

By slightly changing the texture of the blocks, a 3 m high plinth was set into the walls and extended towards the entrance area, defining the lorry loading and unloading yard, the employees' car park and also enclosing a small building for offices and services, which was positioned so as not to interfere with accessibility to the building.

The ends of any one-way structural option are, by their very nature, of very different characteristics to the longitudinal sections. The project chose to highlight this and treated the two walls as lightweight enclosures very similar to the roof. The break produced in the vertical plane by following the inclination given by the capitals was used to place two large skylights that evenly bathed the interior depths of the nave.
