The house was designed in response to the climate and environment of Galicia, in an interesting exercise of fusing the language of the modern movement with popular Galician tradition. Constructive rationality, the search for simplicity and an appropriate use of materials form the meeting point. It is on a single floor and is organically structured around a small courtyard, as the core of the light inside the house. From here, the walls project outwards, arranging the different rooms that seek the appropriate aspect.

A gallery protects the large windows in the living area from the prevailing storms. The volumetric design is simple and the roof, a taut sheet of fibre cement sheets with small channels, has a single slope with a gentle incline.

The organic floor plan establishes a close relationship between the interior and exterior of the house, with transits of passages and courtyards enveloped in vegetation, always framed by the long walls of golden slate slabs and pergolas of wood and rusted iron.

The premises for the house to blend in with its beautiful natural surroundings are in place, now just have to wait for the weather to play its part.
