Sonor. Hi-fi shop

The premises consisted of a ground floor and basement and were part of a building with a very untidy structure and installations. The project, unable to make the most of this neglected landscape, proposed the creation of a new interior space defined by a new envelope that embraced it and ran completely independently of the uneven perimeter of the premises.

The first test drawing consisted of a first superimposition of a triangular pattern on some casual geometries and how it changed scale to suit the item to be hidden or surrounded. The drawing expressed the search for a strategy that was intended to be general for such situations. The grid ended up being orthogonal and was applied to walls, ceilings and floors. From the street, the built envelope could be seen on the outside, peeking between the pillars of the building without touching them. Its appearance highlighted the whole strategy of the operation, as if it was as much about sleight of hand as it was about explaining the trick.
