Riudaura is a small village of 425 inhabitants, at the beginning of a valley, which has no public buildings other than the church and the City Council square because the school is reduced to the ground floor of one of its houses. The village now wants to have a new public space for cultural, leisure and sporting activities. For this purpose, he has set up a property at the entrance to the village, which is topographically in a depression and overlooks the church.

The challenge is how to cover a space in which to house these different activities, in such a special landscape-social environment. The new building captures its surroundings. It is placed as a horizontal line that accompanies and shows the vertical landmark of the church, underlining it. And it is placed transversally, to free up a new square in front of it, characterising it. It also stands guard over the games, dance and sports area behind, presiding over it.

The building connects the two spaces through the dark, deep, recurring portals.
