Valdemaqueda Town Hall

Valdemaqueda is immersed in pine forests, facing south and protected by a hillside of high ecological value. The construction of this small public building, regardless of its size, is cause for reflection on its ability to order the immediate surroundings without distorting the existing scale. In this sense, the objective of the proposal is the configuration and arrangement of the square towards where the Town Hall has its most representative façade and the integration of the new building among the small and dispersed volumes of the municipality.

The materials - concrete, wood and slate - are integrated into the chromatic scale of the site and allow it to remain stable over time. The clock on a plain cut-out in the exposed concrete wall and the masts recall the institutional character of the small building.
