The CGAC building is located within the grounds of the former orchard of the Convent of Santo Domingo de Bonaval and along Calle Valle-lnclán, on a successive platform between La Puerta del Camino and Santo Domingo, also allowing the recovery of the garden to the east of the Convent of San Roque and the access platforms to the Convent of Santo Domingo to be integrated, with the aim of rebuilding a pre-existing and destroyed order.

The great difficulty in the development of the project relates to its insertion in a space gradually populated by buildings of very different scale and significance, only partly and descriptively related. It is up to the CGAC to mediate these difficult links, transforming an accumulation of buildings and spaces into a coherent fabric, encompassing the Convent of Santo Domingo as well as the modest building any, a square as much as a private garden.

The volumes considered and already described with regard to their deployment are still defined by a common height, corresponding approximately to the finish of the door of the Convent and the Church of Santo Domingo. That is to say, the relationship between the CGAC and the Convent maintains its preponderance in the urban context, being replaced, to a certain extent and in this sense, by the delimiting wall of the respective enclosure, which has since been demolished.

At the same time, the volume adopted is a mediator between the scales of the Convent, the dilemma between the streets Valle-lnclán and As Rodas, and the Colexio La Salle, uniting and isolating between these different reallzacões and multiplying the relations of alignment and others. The conservation-transformation criteria advocated involve in particular the choice of coating material. A granite slab was chosen for the exterior surfaces of the building, possibly varying the colour of this material, in order to allow a clear reading of its constituent bodies.
