Our "look": SENSORY JOURNEY - GUIDE TAPE.

Facilitate the perception of the existing garden: it is not necessary to create a "Garden for the Blind", quite the contrary. We want visually impaired people to be able to enjoy the existing garden. To give the possibility of appreciating the sensory richness of their walk and their relatively autonomous route. The route from the entrance to the AROMATIC PLANTS GARDEN summarises the sensory information of the garden.

A specific path is marked out, the CINTA-GUIA, which is enabled as a return route. It brings together the tactile and aromatic stimuli that facilitate and influence the sensory perception of the garden. On the left-hand side of the outward journey, a metal strip is provided as a reference kerb to ensure orientation.

The impact of the baton on the raised or supported tape emits different sounds, which differentiate situations in the context of the garden.

The TAPE

It rests at ground level, at crossroads or interpretative stopping points, sensory points. Trays with tactile information and stimuli that allow the sensorial interpretation of the natural environment: leaves, fruits, and information about the species and the history of the garden, are placed on interpretative tables in the singular points of the garden. Focus on the sense of smell and touch.

It is also modified to solve other needs in the garden as a whole: channel, or runoff or rainwater channel, flowerbed kerb, or pavement boundary.

The AROMATIC GARDEN

It is created as a finishing touch to the route, recovering some pre-existing planters that are used for planting various species chosen for their aromas, colours and textures.

A TABLE OF THE SENSES is created where small containers are installed with a didactic vocation, the contents of which will vary throughout the seasons, with an emphasis on aromas, colours and textures.
