In a marvellous place that is like a piece of paradise on earth, in Cadiz, we built an infinite plan facing the infinite sea, the most radical house we have ever built. At the very edge of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, where the sea joins the new and the old continent, a stone platform rises up. At the place where all the ships coming from the Mediterranean used to cross and still cross to plunge into the Atlantic.

We have built a house there as if it were a dock facing the sea. A house that is a podium topped by an upper horizontal plane. On that rounded horizontal plane, clear and bare, we stand in front of the distant horizon traced by the sea where the sun sets. A high horizontal plane, built in stone, in Roman travertine, as if it were made of sand, an infinite plane facing the infinite sea. Nothing more, nothing less.

To materialise this elevated horizontal plane, which is the main room of the house, we built a large box measuring 20 metres in front and 36 metres in depth. And under the first 12 metres we excavated two storeys in the solid, stone capable of developing the entire housing programme. We would like this house to be able not only to stop time, but also to remain in the memory and in the hearts of men. The house of infinity.
