Following a plan drawn up by the architects Español-Hereu, the small house between party walls, built by my parents in the sixties, is being reassembled, treating it programmatically as an extension to the house renovated in 2012 or as an independent weekend unit.

A single space with a mezzanine for a bedroom, occupying the height allowed by the section and the slope of the roof, housing a small living room-dining room-office and bathroom, which allows it to be used as an independent element within the dwelling. The tiled roof, required by urban planning guidelines, is warped to allow horizontality of the ridge due to the geometry of the plot.

The real window is the large pane of glass set back towards the interior, creating a small intermediate terrace and allowing an opening in the façade wall to frame the view eastwards towards the Gulf of Roses. This orientation gives a view of the sunrise and, with the sun already high, from the shade inside, enjoy the illuminated landscape for the rest of the day. Sitting inside, the profile of the glass of the free-standing balustrade coincides with the line of the horizon and high curtains (a double-height curtain) form a stage, where the landscape is the plot.
