A strict sports programme, spatially and economically, to which must be added the possibility of other collective activities, in a simultaneously rural and historical context.

Project:

II BEAU

A box of great simplicity, abstract and rigorous, in which the constructive elements become significant elements, transforming an obligatory criterion of minimal intervention into a design attitude.

Structure:

A three-dimensional rigid box saves its smaller span on the basis of prefabricated lightweight trusses that support a deck.

Finishes:

II BEAU

The construction procedures used up to the completion of the building test the extension of mechanisms of figurative abstraction to the materials and catalogues of the industrial vernacular in an attempt to dignify simplification as a working method.

Ábalos & Herreros

The building controls its presence by choosing a mid-slope position, facing the valley and the river and measuring itself, in size and texture, with the buildings that make up the public silhouette of Simancas.
