The Es Puig d'en Valls sports centre project was conceived in two distinct phases; the first one consisted of the roofing of the two existing outdoor courts; the second consisted of the design and construction of the perimeter enclosure.

When we were commissioned to design its enclosure during the execution of the first phase, our main project objective was to find an element of fusion between the interior space and the environment in which it is located, so as not to lose the essence of the sporting practice in an outdoor space that the Es Puig d'en Valls teams had developed in this place for years.
It was precisely during the execution of the first phase that we discovered the intensity of the shades of colour that the sun projected onto the building from its rising (due to the absence of obstacles from the east) to its setting. And that is why the introduction of these fleeting shades of the colour of light in the new space to be defined became the fundamental element of the project and the element capable of giving continuity over time to the essence of the previously existing totally open sports space.
