The aim of the project is the rehabilitation and implementation of programmes of social interest uses. These uses are, on the one hand, the headquarters of the Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM) and its Cultural Foundation; on the other hand, the Madrid City Council proposes the construction of a Nursery School, a Day Centre and Centre for the Elderly, a Sports Centre and a Municipal Music School.

The total built surface area is 36,486 m2, of which 628 correspond to the Baroque church of San Antón, the work of Pedro de Ribera, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, whose volumes are fully integrated into the complex of the former Pious Schools of San Antón, which, with the exception of this church, suffered a process of progressive ruin. The scope of the proposal has two views... a long view that relates in a natural way with a wide environment by proposing a tree-lined garden that is "sewn" with different landscaped areas of the city, the tree-lined "living room" of Alonso Martínez, Jardines del Arquitecto Ribera..., defining a space of relationship and life for man.

The shade of a tree is a space of unparalleled value. The real transformation of an urban space is as much about its trees as it is about its buildings. If we leave our children a wooded garden in this part of the city, we will be making urban heritage. An atmosphere of serenity and joy is a value that the project seeks. A place of tranquillity, a serene atmosphere, a place that welcomes life..., a meeting place. It is a secluded, yet open environment. A place where the trees can be seen through transparency at street level..., an open space where life happens naturally.

An "honest and clear" construction is proposed, a Doric attitude, an approach to the essence, where matter is presented with its natural values, understanding that "honesty in architecture is an intellectual position". Construction is part of architectural thinking. Architecture is the thread that sews dreams.
