Inhabiting the territory from the land and the world
On this occasion, the professionals gathered in Lisbon will articulate their debates and proposals around the question of "Inhabiting the Territory", the conceptual axis of the 6th Ibero-American Biennial.
At a time when the fight against the destruction of the territory resulting from the overuse of natural resources has become a strategic policy for many governments, it seems appropriate to open a debate on the limits of the growth of the urbanisation phenomenon, the enhancement of the physical environment as a common heritage, the impact of new essential infrastructure and social housing, the treatment of urban peripheries and the value of land use planning as a discipline regulating the activity of the sector.
Therefore, this 6th Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism should be useful for us to analyse everything that, in the last two years in the work, in the editorial culture, in the research projects and in the activity of young architects, women and students working in the network, has been developed in each Ibero-American country under the perspective of a vision of "Inhabiting the Territory".

José Luis Cortes - Curator of the Young Iberoamerican Architects' Exhibition
Eva María Álvarez Isidro - Coordinator of the Web Ideas Competition for Students
