A preliminary project for a building for the Museum of Contemporary Art

ORDER of 29 December 1953 on the resolution of the National Architectural Competition for the current year

"Hon. Mr.: Having regard to the file on the resolution of the National Architecture Award for the current year; and Having regard to the fact that by Ministerial Order of 9 September last, the aforementioned National Competition was announced, the theme of which was a preliminary project for a building for a Museum of Contemporary Art, a prize of 15,000 pesetas and a runner-up prize of 8,000 pesetas were offered. After the corresponding procedure, the Jury, chaired by Mr Francisco Prieto Moreno and also including Mr Modesto Lo pez Otero and Mr Luis Moya Blanco, decided to award a prize of 15,000 pesetas and a runner-up prize of 8,000 pesetas, unanimously agrees to propose that the announced prize of 15,000 pesetas be awarded to the project presented by Mr. Ramón Vázquez Molezún; and the runner-up prize of 8,000 pesetas to the project presented by Mr. Julio Cano Lasso, This Ministry, in view of the above proposal, has resolved:

1. To approve it in its entirety, awarding the prizes in the form and amount detailed therein.

2 That the amount of the same be paid from the appropriation consigned in Chapter One, Article Two, Group Seven, Concept 18, Sub-concept Three, of the current budget of this Department, the expenditure of which was reported to the Accounting and Budget Section of the Ministry on last 9 June, and by the General Intervention of the State Administration on 29 August the following year, the appropriate payrolls being drawn up by the Authorisation of this Ministry.
